Now an institution at the Kitzsteinhorn, the Volvo X OVER RIDE is taking place for what is already the seventh time in 2010. From April 2 to 5 boarders and skiers from various nations give their best at the Freeride Cross and the Slopestyle Contest. Participants will celebrate in the evening at the legendary After Contest Parties at Kaprun Castle. Besides fame and fortune various prizes amounting to € 8,000 in total are waiting for the winners.
It was the big show everyone had expected! Thanks to impressive performances of some of the world’s best riders and a perfectly prepared Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park, the Austrian Freeski Open 2010 has hit the top of the list of international freeski events. After a long hard day at the snow park, Jossi Wells from New Zealand took victory with a flawless run in the finals.
The snow conditions are fantastic, the snow parks are in a first class state – and the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park celebrates the new half-pipe with a novel event: At Follow The Pipe 2010 on February 13th 2010, the participants will film one another with a helmet camera while doing their pipe runs. The friends of the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park page on facebook will decide about the winner and the best produced movie!

After two months of building, Volvo ICE CAMP powered by Ovi opened its icy doors on Saturday, January 16th 2010. The numerous spectators at the opening event couldn’t help but be amazed: Twelve-metre high snow igloos, crystal-clear design elements made from ice, elaborate lighting effects, perfect technology - and at the centre of it all, on a pedestal made from ice: the new Volvo C30. The day trippers among the visitors took advantage of the ICE CAMP sports programme, while the first adventurers spent the night at 2,500 metres above sea level, in one of the seven sleep igloos.
In only a few days, it will be the fourth time that the Volvo ICE CAMP presented by Nokia will open with a high-calibre event. Starting on January 16th, 2010, an impressive igloo landscape full of architectural highlights, sophisticated technology and stylish designs made from ice and snow will await visitors on Kitzsteinhorn Mountain. What’s more, the new Volvo C30 will be presented at 2,500 metres above sea level, at the world’s highest-elevation showroom.

Ready – steady – go: the Snowpark Rally enters its second season and again, everyone is invited to take part!
One Big Park / SalzburgerLand presents the BagJump Pro Session at the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park from the 15th to the 18th of December 2009! At this exciting training session, Europe’s best snowboard pros will extend their array of tricks and land innovative manoeuvres on a huge airbag, the BagJump. This new training method enables the snowboarders to push their sport to the next level.
Ice crystals sparkling in the winter sun. Deeply snowed slopes as far as the eye can see. The wide white panoramic view of the Salzburg mountains. A deep breathe of clear glacier air. And then: let’s go! Carving on perfectly groomed slopes. Riding the powder of the backcountry. Pulling a stunt at the kickers and rails of the snow parks. The Kitzsteinhorn offers pure freedom!
For the fourth time in history, the Volvo ICE CAMP presented by Nokia is being built – an impressive igloo landscape in the middle of Kitzsteinhorn Mountain. Throughout the summer, the team saved up all their energy. Eight weeks of building work on top of a glacier requires great effort in order to take up the challenge against the elements and transform 5,000 m3 of snow and 60 tons of ice into the institution for all freedom-loving winter sport enthusiasts.

Let the show begin! With the opening of the Glacier Park, the 2009/10 freestyle season at the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park has begun. From now on, snowboarders and freeskiers can enjoy themselves on the varied kickers, boxes and rails of the four lines at the glacier of the Kitzsteinhorn near Zell am See-Kaprun, Austria.
From the 25th to the 28th of February 2010 the show will go on again: For the first time the Austrian Freeski Open will hit the Kitzsteinhorn Mellow Park in Zell am See - Kaprun.
A super-pipe is the newest addition to the KitzsteinhornMellowPark in Kaprun, Salzburg County, Austria.
