Check the Avalanche Training Center
The Kitzsteinhorn Avalanche Training Center, for lessons in the use of avalanche beacons, is just above the Alpincenter. Here you can practice using beacons the correct way, under realistic circumstances. The training area is self explanatory, free of charge and without any preperation time.

Where, How, When?

• Place: 100m above the Alpincenter. Easily reached with skis or board by the Volvo ICE CAMP
• Price: use of the training area is for free
• Equipment: take your own beacon and avalanche probe
• Times: open daily when Kitzsteinhorn is operating
• Groups: trainings for groups on inquiry

Operation System
There are four hidden beacons. At the entrance of the area you can choose between three different levels on a userfriendly touchscreen.

• Level 1: find one beacon
• Level 2: find two beacons
• Level 3: find all four beacons

You have three minutes for every level to complete. If you don't find the beacon in time you will get an acoustic signal. If you can find a beacon  you will also hear an acoustic signal. You can analyse your results direct at the Training Area or via Internet (Results).
