3000 m above it all ...
Salzburg's highest lookout mountain offers enticing views of the 3000 m high alpine world. Panorama terraces at over 3000 m above sea level offer visitors fantastic panoramic eye-to-eye views of the 3000 m peaks of the Hohe Tauern.
Summit station panorama terrace
The panorama terrace on the roof ot the summit station offers incredible allround views of the heart of the Eastern Alps, with the Limestone Alps and Pinzgau's grass-covered mountains to the north and the west, and the Hohe Tauern National Park to the south.
Glocknerkanzel panorama terrace
Starting from the summit station, the path to the Glocknerkanzel platform takes you through the 362 m long Panorama tunnel. The viewing platform itself clings to the southern flank of the Kitzsteinhorn very much like an eagle's nest. The views up here really are the tops: the Grossglockner, Austria's highest mountain at 3797 m above sea level, is so close you could almost reach out and touch it, the glacier peaks of the Hohe Tauern sparkle in the sunshine, and with any luck you can spot majestic golden eagles soaring high above the mountain tops.
