The Glacier: What a summer experience
Summer on the Kitzsteinhorn is an experience in itself. Here at the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the high alpine nature is at its most spectacular. Up on the glacier the snow defies even the high summer temperatures down in the valley. Mighty rock formations jut out among the green hiltops and meadows strewn with flowers. The crystal clear mountain streams are a welcome source of refreshment and the panoramic views make one feel very humble indeed. With a bit of luck you might spot a marmot, a chamois or a golden eagle.
